    THE ROLE

NCFM is looking for a Media Advisor to build relationships with businesses across Ocala and Marion County, ask good questions and turn what they learn into advertising strategies that make sense for the business in front of them.

This is a sales job. You’ll prospect. You’ll make calls. You’ll set appointments. You’ll hear no. There will always be someone you need to call back. But the job isn’t walking in with a rate card and deciding what you can sell.
It’s sitting down with local business owners and decision-makers, learning what they’re trying to accomplish, understanding what’s getting in the way and working with the NCFM team to build a strategy around it.

    What You’ll Do

You’ll build and manage your own pipeline of local and regional businesses, from the first conversation through the ongoing relationship.
That means finding new opportunities, starting conversations, conducting discovery meetings, developing recommendations, presenting proposals and following up until there’s a yes, a no or a reason to keep talking.
You’ll also work with existing clients to understand what’s changing in their business and where there may be another opportunity to grow.
NCFM has a lot of ways to reach customers, including radio, streaming audio, search, display, paid social, digital video, audience targeting and retargeting.
You do not need to walk in knowing how to execute all of them. We have specialists for that.
But you do need to learn how they work and, more importantly, why you would recommend one over another.
Knowing which product to sell isn’t the job. Knowing why you’re recommending it is.

    Your First 49 Days

We don’t expect you to figure this job out on your own. Your first 49 days follow a structured training path designed to teach you the market, our brands, our capabilities and how we approach advertising strategy.
You’ll work alongside leadership and peers, learn how we conduct discovery, build recommendations and talk about the different ways we can reach customers. At the same time, you’ll start building your own prospect list, making connections and putting what you’re learning into practice.
You won’t know everything at the end of 49 days. That’s not the point.
You should know how to keep learning, where to find the answers and be ready to build from there.

    What Success Looks Like

Success here isn’t measured by how many products you can squeeze onto a proposal.
It’s a healthy pipeline. Better conversations. New opportunities. Strong client relationships. And ultimately, more of the things that matter to the businesses you work with: calls, appointments, searches, visits, leads and revenue. Because clicks don’t mean business. People do.

You Might Be a Good Fit If…

    • Starting conversations with people you don’t know doesn’t scare you.
    • Curiosity usually wins over jumping straight to the pitch.
    • Following up doesn’t require someone else reminding you that Tuesday’s prospect still needs a call.
    • New technology is something to learn, not something to pretend you already understand.
    • You can explain something complicated without making it sound complicated.
    • Different businesses needing different answers sounds obvious to you.

Media or sales experience is helpful. Being coachable, curious and willing to prospect matters more.
