Scott Chase was born in Allentown, PA, but says he’s moved so much around these great United States for radio that you’d think he was in the military. He’s worked in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Tennessee, Michigan, and in four Florida radio markets including Sarasota, West Palm Beach, Melbourne, and Tampa Bay before settling into middays at 92.5/95.5 Wind-FM in Ocala.
While Scott has worked in various radio formats over the years, he has returned to his roots with Cheap Trick having been the first concert he ever attended.
“I had an opportunity to meet Rick [Nielsen] and Bun E. [Carlos] while I was working in Rockford, IL,” he says.
He’s also enjoyed a multitude of concerts throughout his career including Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, and says he even got on stage once and sang backup with REO Speedwagon.
Of course, there are quite a few acts that he would have enjoyed seeing with their original lineups, including Journey, Styx, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Boston.
Something that immediately stands out when meeting Scott Chase is his height. “I am very tall – 6’ 7”. I played high school and college hoops in Pennsylvania,” he says. He has also been active in several half marathons over the past decade. With those long legs, he certainly had little to break his stride.
Scott is also the head of a rather large family. “My fiancée and I have eight kids between us,” he says. “We really need a small bus to carry all of us.”
Good thing he loves some things that all of the kids love, too, like NBA2K on Xbox, movies, comedy, and bike riding. He’s also a craft beer connoisseur.
You can find Scott blasting his favorite tunes weekdays from 10AM-2PM on Wind-FM.
