Missy King is gearing up to participate in the North Central Florida Outdoor Expo on August 13! The Outdoor Expo is hosted by the North Central Florida Media Group radio stations 93.7 K-Country and 92.5/95.5 Wind-FM.
Missy is a professional angler and has been fishing since she was five years old. She uses her years of experience to teach people of all ages with any level of experience about fishing. She puts on an annual fishing tournament, Hookin’ for Habitat, where all proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Marion County for low-income housing.
“You teach a kid to fish; they fish for life,” she said. “I’m able to help and guide a lot of people.”
As a professional angler, Missy hosts fishing seminars and teaches how to tie knots, what to do with line, how to put a boat onto a trailer and boat ramp, catch and release conservation, and different fishing methods for the bodies of water in Florida.
Missy says fishing is an amazing outlet for everyone and gives people something to look forward to. She jokes that instead of fighting the whole time, couples learning to fish should hire a guide and make a date out of it.
At Missy’s Outdoor Expo booth, you can enter a chance drawing for a fishing basket loaded with all the essentials to start your fishing journey. She also has a book of different fish, information from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission about regulations, and fishing towels with the Hookin’ for Habitat logo.
Missy King and tons of other amazing vendors will be at the 4th Annual North Central Florida Outdoor Expo on August 13 at the World Equestrian Center!
We hope to see you there!
